Color in my Kitchen

Basket of Bounty

Basket of Bounty

What I love about this time of year are the collections of color that make their way from the garden to my kitchen counter.  Some days there is a white bowl of sumptuous sungold cherry tomatoes, an earthen strainer with drying blueberries and a bright green cucumber.  There is always a bud vase with one flower poking out that a little hand plucked, with good intention or perhaps absentmindedness, getting too little stem.  This bounty of color arrives after its short journey over green grass in splendor.  Sometimes I can barely stand to dissemble the overflowing basket, because of its beauty and so leave it until dinner calls.
